Who Should Pay for Education?

Every child has a right to education supported by contribution from tax payers.

All parents should have the right to choose the nature, style and perspective of the education they want for their child.

The tension that exists between teacher unions, some government school supporters and governments over the funding of non-government schools should end. If the above two principles are acknowledged and a fair and transparent mechanism for funding is determined this divisive debate should diminish. The needs-based, sector-blind, and reasonably transparent Gonski 2.0 funding system has gone a long way to addressing these concerns.
